The "All Time Best Dressed Golfer"- Payne Stewart

What golf fan can ever forget the image of Payne Stewart in his famous fist pump stance as he won the 1991 U.S. Open at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota? Two shots behind opponent Scott Simpson going into the finally three holes of a Monday playoff, Stewart rallied to defeat Simpson for the second of his three major championships. The first had come at the 1989 PGA Championship at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Long Grove, Illinois, and the third at the 1999 U.S. Open at Pinehurst Resort Course No. 2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina shortly before his untimely passing.

As the spotlight returns to Hazeltine this week for the U.S. Amateur Championship, we remember Stewart’s unmatched style, as evidenced in the Miami Dolphins-inspired polo, knickers and tam outfit he wore during Sunday’s round, as well as the patriotic red, white and blue ensemble he sported for the dramatic playoff.

It was this flair for dramatic victories as well as his unmatched fashion sense that made Stewart one of the game’s true style icons. And thanks to the recent launch of the Payne Stewart Collection, his incomparable style can be enjoyed today with this line of polos, quarter zips, windshirts, packables, pants, shorts and trademark knickers.

There are 44 pieces in the first Payne Stewart Collection, which features two distinct marks: Stewart’s iconic fist pump, which will be featured on the chest or sleeve via a heat transfer patch; and his signature, which will be used selectively in certain applications. Also look for the signature Payne Stewart Tam and baseball caps to add some distinctive charm to the lineup. All of these pieces bring to mind his unique combination of flair and sophistication that never failed to turn heads, making him one of the most identifiable players on the PGA Tour and earning him the distinction of being dubbed the “All-Time Best Dressed Golfer."
